The Banat Mailing List
In 1995, Bob Madler started the Banat Mailing List which has discussed genealogy and other cultural topics of Donauschwaben or Danube Swabians around the world
(Read how Bob started the list). Today the list has over 600 subscribers and is signaling the growing awareness and importance of our culture.
There are two methods of receiving the Banat Mailing List.
Banat-L is for individual messages to be delivered to your e-mail address. As each subscriber to the list sends messages to the list address, you will receive a copy of the message. The majority of the subscribers use this method.
Banat-D is for a digest of several accumulated messages to be delivered to your email address, generally once a day. As each subscriber to the list sends messages to the list address, they are put into a digest to be delivered later. This option is handy for people who don't want multiple messages to accumulate in their mail box.

Both Banat-L and Banat-D subscribers may send messages to the list using the following address:
- Change of address.
There are two steps to change your email address.
- First, from the old email address account follow the unsubscribe procedure. If you are changing service providers please unsubscribe before you leave them.
Second, using the new email address follow the subscribe procedure.
- Archive. (More on the archive)
Rootsweb maintains an archive of the messages. You can search the archive for a specific message
or browse them, going from one message to another.
